SOLOCO is not a conventional Solar Water Heater (SWH). Its unique advantages can be appreciated under harsh conditions when the conventional SWHs fail to deliver. Marked difference in performance can be observed in the following situations.
- Sub-zero temperatures: On winter nights easy drainage is possible. If not drained, conventional SWHs suffer severe damage due to water freezing inside, but SOLOCO escapes due to it's unique design and component selection.
- Unloaded system under sun: When the system is unloaded but still under sun, components do not suffer any damage, while conventional SWHs cannot be left in such conditions.
- Uneven terrain: Modularity allows flexibility in installation
- Frequent movement and transportation: Modular, light-weight and easy to assemble & disassemble
- Need for potable water: Non-toxic components and high outlet temperature range, thus it can be used to pasteurize water.
- Salty inlet water: Easy drainage thus silt removed comfortably
- Summer usage: (In hilly areas) Simple manual seasonal adjustments to achieve higher performance in summers as well, when most conventional SWHs are made for winter usage.
- No running water: Separate tank with lid for daily operation as a standalone system
